Definition: Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax)

Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) is a computing model based on partitioning a web application into a client-side web application and a server-side web application that communicate through a web connection in such a way that a minimal amount of information is transferred and rich and dynamic display and interaction can be supported which can rival that of local applications.

Acronym is Ajax.
