Definition: Computational Taxonomy

A computational taxonomy is a taxonomy or hierarchical classification which has been automatically derived by computer software using data mining, textual analysis, and statistical techniques.

The term is also loosely used to refer to any taxonomy which has been represented in the form of a computer database.
