Definition: Deontic Logic

Deontic logic is a formal reasoning system for ethics and normative concepts and normative systems based on the concept of "ought" or requirements or moral obligation.

Deontic logic is of interest to computer science, artificial intelligence, philosophy, organization theory, and law.
