Definition: Semantic Web Technologies

Semantic Web technologies are the W3C technologies that form the basis of the Semantic Web, including XML, XML Schema, RDF, RDF Schema, OWL, and SPARQL. Any of these technologies can be used by any application, but only applications which support RDF are truly Semantic Web applications.
