Although I have been well aware of the many efforts on the Semantic Web and have tried to follow progress a bit more closely in recent years, now I am going to dive in a bit more deeply.
Besides investigating more of the background, underpinnings, and current tools, technologies, and techniques of the Semantic Web, my initial interest is in what I call The Semantic Abyss, the semantic gap between the semantics of the real world and the meaning represented in Semantic Web structures.
I also intend to develop a much more robust Semantic Web Glossary.
Eventually I will flesh out this page with more meaningful content, but for now you can follow my adventures on my Semantic Web blog, The Semantic Abyss - Plumbing the Semantic Web.
As a starting point, here is my definition for the term Semantic Web.
